There are a lot of people who enjoyed the blessings of God remarkably. They have their own houses, brand new cars, flourishing careers, happy families, etc. but years later, they seem to deviate their ways and follow their own selfish agenda. Pastor Pol Narido Think of a husband who made a vow to be faithful to his wife during their wedding day, now seems to have amnesia that he forgets everything what he had promised for he is now trapped by EMA (Extra Marital Affair).
Think of a businessman who made a name in business now involved in illegal transactions. Think of a son who enjoys the love and care of his family now succumbed to various vices. These are just few instances that self-will (stubbornly determine to get one’s own way) does not end well. The parable of the prodigal son gives us the exact picture when we become wise in our own eyes (Prov 3:7). Untimely, he asked the portion of goods that belongs to him (v.12), a shocking request as if he wished his father were dead. The father graciously granted his request. He went to a far country, and there squandered his possessions with recklessly extravagant and wanton living. Consequently, he lost everything he had that he began to be in want (v.14) hankering even the pods eaten by swine (v.16). Here, he realized, had he not follow his selfish desire he could have the real enjoyment in the presence of his father. Apart from our Father’s will our life is uncertain. You may enjoy now in your stubbornness but you will pay later. The only way you can get back to the track is to:
