“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” (NIV) Inspired by the scripture from Colossians 3:22-24, creative and media teams from JIL Saskatoon, Yorkton, and Regina gathered on June 19th, 2021 for their very first provincial Multimedia Arts Network Seminar entitled ‘Work of Heart”. The first half of the seminar focused on utilizing various disciplines such as graphic design, creative writing, branding, and social media management in expanding God’s kingdom. This session was presented by one of our guest speakers Bro. Martin Ceralde of JIL Cornerstone. Bro. Martin provided useful techniques, suggestions, and case studies to provide knowledge and insight on what it means to be “social media missionaries” and how all of these contribute to our common calling of making disciples of many nations (Matthew 28:19), preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19), and to bring salvation to the ends of the earth (Acts 13:47b).
The second half of the seminar was presented by our second guest speaker Ptr. Andy Anada of JIL North Calgary, where it focused on managing various equipment setups present inside the church sanctuary for its audio, video and streaming needs. During this session, Ptr. Andy was also able to expound on the concept and theory of these systems, and how it plays out in the actual/physical equipment connections. All glory to God for the lives of our guest speakers! This gathering may have focused more on the technicalities of our service to our Lord but one cannot deny that the presence of the Holy Spirit was in our midst. Everyone was empowered and ready to serve our God with utmost excellence, and excited to fulfill our calling that His Word will reach not just our respective cities, our province of Saskatchewan, our country of Canada, but all nations of the earth! From this day forward, we declare growth, excellence and God’s movement in JIL Saskatchewan’s Multimedia Arts Network ministry in the mighty name of Jesus! Back to JIL Saskatchewan On June 12th, 2021 the Jesus is Lord Church Regina held an online Evangelism Seminar “Casting the Nets” via Zoom. We were joined by guest speakers Bro. Josh Palisoc and Ptr. Amor Adela of JIL British Columbia. The objective of the seminar is for the church to be empowered and equipped by the Holy Spirit to fulfill the great commission of the Lord Jesus Christ, for them to capture the very heart of Jesus towards the lost souls, and to awaken and inspire for intentional evangelism and open their eyes to the need and urgency of evangelism in these last days.
In this seminar, there were two main topics discussed: “Casting The Nets In This Generation” by Bro. Josh Palisoc and “Casting The Nets In The Power Of The Holy Ghost” delivered by Ptr. Amor Adela. Each session was intended to equip the delegates with the wisdom, knowledge, compassion and most importantly, the anointing of the Holy Spirit to be effective soul-winners who will victoriously reach out and “cast their nets” in their home, workplace, their school, and all the places that have yet to receive the Good News that is Jesus Christ. An opportunity for testimony was held before the seminar concluded, and in there many were able to bring forward their accounts of God’s goodness in their lives. Delegates testified for having their passion for soul-winning awakened, their excitement for intentional evangelism restored, and even receiving a vivid vision from the Lord. We give all glory to God for stirring and awakening the hearts of His people! Through this seminar, the fire in us has been rekindled so that we may fulfill the great commission and participate in the great harvest of souls. We are beyond grateful for the powerful movement of the Holy Spirit experienced throughout, and with expectant hearts, we look forward to His wondrous works in bringing the salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ to the lost! Back to JIL Saskatchewan The Young Adults’ Network held a 4-week series entitled “YAN Talks”, with the objective of reaching out and educating young adults, both guests and church members, on spiritual and practical ways of handling life obligations such as finances, careers, and connections. Held every Saturday between the months of March until May, the series also welcomed guest speakers from different JIL churches across Western Canada. The first part of the series was finances, led by Bro. Aljon Botawan as he discussed basic financial principles such as avoiding debt, living within one’s means, saving & budgeting, and most importantly, having a generous heart. The second topic was taught by YAN Regina Head Sis. Maricel Bautista, focusing on handling responsibilities, priorities, and critical thinking in order to achieve desirable results in life. The third YAN Talks session was joined by Ptr. Ana Anada of JIL North Calgary as she discussed Godly principles for career planning. We were reminded that professional development does not mean sacrificing our spiritual life, and that our career goals should be led by no other than the wisdom coming from our Lord. The last topic of the series was connections, and it was led by Sis. Hannah Sagaral of JIL Winnipeg. From this we learned the importance of staying connected to our family, church, and community and how its stability, or lack thereof contributes to our disposition as a Christian young adult.
By the grace and favor of our God alone, the YAN Talks series was blessed with 35 visitors and 4 first timers! We are grateful for this opportunity to reach out to the young adults not only in our city, but across Canada and other countries as well. To God be all the glory! Facebook: YAN Regina Instagram: @yanreginask Back to JIL Regina This year’s Womens’ Network Conference was joined by guest speaker Ptr. Lourdes Cruzat from JIL Church Sherwood Park. The theme was “Beautifully Broken,” along with the following verses from Psalm 34:18, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” and 1 Peter 5:10, “And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”
To begin, an exciting ice breaker game was led by Sis. Edna Mercado where each participant was tasked to determine the words Sis. Edna is saying through her screen while she is on mute. We thank our God for He was able to create the spirit of fellowship even though the conference was being held online. One of the main highlights of the conference were the video testimonies shared by Sis. Charmaine Gelacio-Vataga, Sis. Nelsie Cinena, and Sis. Jonnah Dela Cruz. These women faced struggles, confronted disappointments, fought through unimaginable uncertainties; but also found joy, resilience and strength by the grace and mercy of our Lord. The Word of the Lord was preached by Ptr. Lourdes Cruzat where she openly shared her experiences where she herself also encountered difficulties both in her personal life and in the ministry, but it was the Lord who ultimately lit her way and poured out blessings and favour in her life more than she can contain. Her testimony brought glory to the Name of our Lord, and served as an inspiration to those present in the conference. At times we may ask the question, how can there be beauty in the brokenness? It is not always easy to believe but we learned that even though our walk with Jesus cannot be defined as a life free of hardships, it is one where we have a Saviour, Healer and Friend who is never far from our reach. Let every victorious woman of faith declare that Jesus is Lord over their lives! Back to JIL Regina The theme of this year’s Life Group Leaders’ Summit is “God’s Channel of Blessings”. In compliance with Saskatchewan's public health restrictions, this was held online via Zoom on May 14th, 2021. But truly, those who long to gather in furtherance of His Kingdom will receive favour because through Zoom, lifegroup leaders from Regina, Saskatoon, and Yorkton were able to come together thus becoming an SK-wide LGL Summit led by Ptr. Bong Palon (Regina), Ptr. Jake Esperanza (Saskatoon), and Ptr. Pol Narido (Yorkton).
Ptr. Bong began the summit with his exhortation entitled “Doing Something New”, urging us to have the courage, humility and faith to expect great things from our Lord for the God we serve is a God of miracles. Ptr. Jake ‘s message “Dare to Dream” encourages us to desire and pursue our God-given dreams, and perseverance until it produces God-honouring results. And last but definitely not the least, JIL Saskatchewan provincial pastor Ptr. Pol Narido’s session was entitled “ God’s Vessel of Honor”, revealing the importance of being called and chosen by the Lord to serve Him in the ministry. We bring all glory to God for the victory of this event! As empowered leaders, may they continue to run this race with joy and perseverance, and strive to be conveyors of His love and grace to others! Back to JIL Saskatchewan JIL Americas 1 (Canada East and Aruba) WIN Summit 2020, 3 Days Prayer and Fasting, & Eschatology Seminar From November 20-22, JIL Americas 1 held its annual WIN Summit and 3 Days Prayer and Fasting! Faithful pastors, leaders and workers prayed and fasted for 3 days, thanking God for the previous year, and earnestly seeking His leading and direction for the coming year 2021. Over 400 delegates joined via Zoom, with another 40+ of our WIN ministering team and committee joining physically at JIL Cornerstone Toronto. Additionally, day 2 of the WIN Summit consisted of our Eschatology Seminar, taught by Ptr. Bobot Bernardo, and attended by over 900 delegates.
DAY 2: SOAKING Our Saturday began with a session by Ptr. Rowena Jagolino (Provincial Pastor for Eastern and Western Ontario). She explained on desiring the "one thing" that David asked for in Psalm 27:4, which is simply to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of his life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him.
DAY 3: SOARING The last day of the Summit started with our Dawn Watch, where Ptr. Mercy Galera (Provincial Pastor for Quebec, Maritime Provinces, and Aruba) preached on Soaring in the Presence of God. She explained that eagles are able to soar without flapping their wings when there is a gust of wind helping them -- for us as followers of Christ, the wind the helps us is none other than God Himself!

The intensity and energy were unreal! These performances were honestly on another level! Each routine was a product of the CYNs’ God-given talent, as well as their teamwork, endurance, and stunning creativity. But just like any competition, only a few of them will be chosen as winners. And it is SanduGO-Dance Troupe (3rd place), Code Blue (2nd place), and Descendants of Shalom (1st place) who were declared winners that night. All glory belongs to our God alone!
We are deeply blessed to have this opportunity to reach out to the youths in our city and introduce the goodness of our Lord through music and dancing, to share His love and compassion through spirited camaraderie, and to rely on prayer as a source of strength and victory. Jesus is Lord over CYN Regina!
