JIL Surrey Mother's Day Celebration 2014

​May 11 was a perfect Sunday to celebrate Mother's Day! Happy, Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! I hope you all felt extra special and appreciated! You all deserve it!

Yesterday we had the privilege to listen to different exhorters in our respective local churches putting how God values mothers under the spotlight. The focus text that was said in my local church was Isaiah 66:13 that is, "As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.”
 
A mother’s love does not quit! After all the secular hype has died down and the world has decided to leave you, no matter what happens the mother’s love is still there. It will never give up on you just as Jochebed never gave up on Moses to Pharaoh's command.
 
After the exhortation it didn't stop there! Two amazing singers serenaded all the mothers. It was such a simple song but it brought mothers to tears. We also had the children recite a sweet poem and gave self-made greeting cards which brought laughter and joy! To top everything off all the handsome and young looking fathers gave a rose to their significant wives.
 
Yesterday wasn't anything fancy but small gestures go a very long way. God allowed the beautiful sun to shine for families to bond that's why I believe yesterday was a perfect day to celebrate Mothers' Day!
 
Behind a great man is a greater mother. Therefore, I pray that one day I will love my own family just as God and my mother has loved me. Once again I would like to give a shout out to all the mothers out there! Thank you for everything and just know that we, your children, love you! I hope everyone has learned something from our exhorters because I surely did.
