JIL Toronto Worship Arts Ministry together with Creative Arts Network presents " He is Risen "
When I see that cross I see freedom
When I see that grave I’ll see Jesus
And from death to life I will sing Your praise
In the wonder of Your grace
On 25th of March 2016, the Christian Youth for the Nations of Toronto had the privilege of re-enacting the story of Jesus’ life, beginning from His humble birth to His majestic resurrection—the very essence of the celebration of Good Friday.
Having been given only a couple of weeks to plan, practice, and present the play, everyone who became part of it worked together in synergy. We would unite ourselves before we begin every rehearsal by holding hands and praying that each scene may be portrayed with justice and God’s glory may be revealed to the audience.
This Easter presentation’s ultimate intention was to display the most awe-filling and praise-inviting story ever told. That is the beautiful exchange that occurred on the cross of Calgary, where the Lamb of God willingly took our place to satisfy God’s wrath towards mankind’s sinful nature and to demonstrate His unconditional love, grace, and mercy despite our unworthiness.
On the third day following His death, He rose from the dead and manifested Himself to be the resurrected King. Thus, Jesus became the way for the reconciliation between the Father and the humanity He created, the truth that every man shall live by, and the life that can only be achieved by having faith in Him.
Every year, Good Friday reminds us of the victory that we have in Jesus for He has defeated death and is now reigning with the Father in heaven. Nevertheless, may we not remember this truth only during this particular day, but rather think about it day by day so that our hearts may overflow with praise and gratitude toward Him.
A special thank you to Kathrina Santos for writing and directing the play. To all the members of this production, from the actors to the behind-the-scenes crew, thank you for your hard work and dedication. To God be all the glory!
