Pastor Bong Gonzales For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this. Anarchy, lawlessness and barbaric living were the common way of life before the celebration of the first Christmas. Related by many groups and individual to the birth of Jesus Christ, believed to be the Son of God base on the Holy Scripture, like the quotation above.
In nations where Christ is honored, though crime has not stopped, law and order has been set up for Freedom and equality as the foundation of all individual and seasons. Though there are still more things to see for the reality of what the good news has promised, like “peace on earth”, many who have been a firm believer have passed to many generations the very spirit of Christmas. These individuals have lived and died with peace in the midst of turmoil and suffering. Though in many places, the celebration has changed, the same spirit remains—that it’s the season of love, giving, forgiving and celebration, regardless of race, status and religious affiliation. You might not have brand new things, big bonuses, day off or good food but it does not mean you cannot be merry this Christmas. For the heart of the message is your inner peace, your joy unspeakable, and your life forever more. I will sound too religious to this issue but don’t be mislead for I am not. For religion has nothing to do with your peace and joy. It’s your relationship to the Celebrant of Christmas, Christ the Son of God. Believe me, those who accepted Him and believed His word has greater peace than any one around you or before you. It does not matter what you wear, what you eat or where you are. You can celebrate Christmas with Him, for He is just a prayer away. Look around, the spirit of His message is clear, but it should not be on the air. It must be in you! How? You might ask. Here’s what I learned from the Scripture:
May this prayer help: “Father God, thank you for sending your son, the true heart of Christmas, he came to give me life, a life of peace and joy. I ask to be forgiven from all my sins, I need the Messiah Jesus Christ the Son of God. Jesus Christ I invite you to come into my heart. I welcome you as my Lord and Savior. This I ask in your name. Amen.” Let the true Merry Christmas be found by you. No matter what the season, the spirit of celebration — peace, joy, will always be there for you. So, this season, share your joy. Greet someone with God’s love, forgive someone, celebrate. Visit a church, preferably a Christian church, that you might experience the amazing love of God this Christmas. Christmas is about Christ and you! Don’t miss it, celebrate this time with Christ, and you will be merry, happy, useful and peaceful! Surely you will be able to Jam in Life and make it through! Have a blessed Merry Christmas!
