HISTORY OF JIL TORONTO 3 CHURCH
The
Word of God in the book of Isaiah comes to fulfillment as the people of God believe and do what the Lord is telling us to
do. Amazingly God moves in a wonderful way that we cannot comprehend.
It started in April 2003 when Jesus Is Lord Church transferred St. Matthews’ United Church to Glencairne
Avenue, Toronto where the newly bought JIL Church building was located.
From two (2) Sunday services with 380 attendees in total, the leadership of JIL Toronto decided to challenge
the leadership of JIL Scarborough to handle the 2nd service in preparation for their own expansion in the near future. Soon
enough, JIL Scarborough congregation found their own place and moved from handling the 2nd service with 80 people in town.
Yet the JIL Toronto Church experienced
growth as well. The two existing services were packed with people though the sanctuary can only accommodate 200 people at
the most. That’s when Ptr. Bong Gonzales challenged the leadership to have a 3rd Service for the safety of every member
and their freedom to dance in worshipping God. This plan became an opportunity for new Pastors to be released as a result.
In a short period of time, every service maximized the space allotted for each service. The first service has average attendees
of 300, 2nd service has 250, and the 3rd service has 125.
Due to the rapid growth of all the services from 1st-3rd, the leadership took another challenge to add another
service. And it became the 4th service of JIL Toronto Church. The leadership moved 2 Cell leaders with their members and made
them the 1st service while the third service ended up with 4 Cell leaders and their members. Now with the continuous growth
of God’s Kingdom, the 3rd Service of Toronto church had a regular attendance of 230. As our declaration for this year
2008 is the year of conquest, we are expecting more souls to be saved and added to the Church. Beginning year of 2008, all
services are functioning as a Church with appointed leaders and workers positioned in every ministry. The Lord is not yet
done with us and we are ready for new challenges ahead as we do His will for His Church.
To God be all the glory for all the success and victory in His Ministry!
