HISTORY OF JIL SCARBOROUGH CHURCH     JIL Church Scarborough opened its doors last 2005 in fulfillment of the Church Planting Program of JIL Ontario, Canada Chapter. It was a mighty blessing that allowed more rooms for an already filled up Worship Service in JIL Church Toronto every Sunday. Also, it became an answer to prayers for a new congregation to be planted in a new city and room for new people to attend in the JIL Toronto Church. When the time came to begin the groundwork of starting a new congregation in Scarborough, there were about eighty members including children that are prospective members of this new church. Upon consultation, the JIL people living in Scarborough expressed their intense willingness with great joy to form and attend a new church right in the city where they live. It took more than two months of tedious search but eventually a strategic location in Sheppard Avenue East where a vacant warehouse building that can hold a maximum capacity of two hundred people was found and leased. Driven by the joy and enthusiasm of the JIL Scarborough congregation, they have decided that the renovation work of the leased building will be done by the members themselves and some assistance from other JIL Churches in the area. The work was completed in just two months. But the greater excitement came when the interior design were unanimously decided to provide an excellent place of worship and atmosphere deserving of the Lord’s presence. Then the spirit of generosity of the JIL Scarborough congregation was truly manifested to reflect their desire for excellence. Since it started, JIL Scarborough continued to experience spiritual and numerical growth in all areas. Truly, everything that have been seen and done in this church was only through the Lord’s mighty work with manifestation of signs, wonders and miracles. But not forgetting the faithful partnership of the JIL Scarborough congregation whose fire, faith and passion have never wavered in all challenges. Moreover, when God is honored by His people, He will honor them back. And that’s what has taken place in JIL Scarborough. From a humble beginning of 80+ members, an afternoon service started last September 2007 to accommodate the growing needs of more than 200 members. This is another testimony that the JIL Church in Scarborough is always confident that God is not done with us yet and more amazing things will happen as the Scriptures said, “no eye has seen, no ear has heard; no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him”.
