HISTORY OF JIL KITCHENER CHURCH
In 2005, in the City of
Kitchener, the Lord opened the door of heaven to JIL people to fulfill the vision and mission that they received from Him
for His glory alone. With fire and faith in their hearts, three Filipina members of the Jesus Is Lord Church (JIL) started
having a bible study and declaring that Jesus is Lord over Kitchener. Through God’s grace and mercy, the three became more, and soon the place of fellowship was a problem.
But once again, God touched the heart of JIL family. A mission house was stablished at 401 Cedarwoods Tower.
In April 2006, JIl Kitchener started having a fellowship
at the mission house. Ptr. Adelfa Tangonan was appointed to be our Lay Pastor to shepherd us. God promised that as we
lift Him up, He will draw more people to His Kingdom. And God's promised was proven. Through the love and compassion
that God put in our hearts, the fire keeps on burning to follow God’s will and purpose and to continue to declare
that Jesus is Lord over the world.
In
November 2007, the Bible Study became a Sunday service. JIL Kitchener started an afternoon service at Highpoint. Within a
few months the numbers became larger and the room cannot accommodate the attendees anymore. God’s faithfulness to JIL
Kitchener was proven once again for He gave them a larger and beautiful place at Howard Johnson Hotel.
In June 2007, JIL Kitchener started having a Sunday morning service. God
continually draws more souls in to the ministry as His faithfull servants continually serve Him and obey Him with all their
hearts.
In November 18, 2007, we celebrated
our first year anniversary and thanksgiving. Celebrating God’s faithfulness to our lives and to the Ministry he entrusted,
that He is God that answers our prayers and that He is God yesterday, today and forever. Rev. Nicanor Gonzales delivered a
message that encouraged, deepen and strengthened our faith to Him with text in Isaiah 54:2.
Today, there are already four cell groups with committed members, and having
that faith to fulfill God’s purpose, while we are here on earth. To finish the race that He has set before us. That
He who began a good work shall come to completion until the day of Jesus Christ. To continue to share the word of God
to the needy that truly He is the way the truth and the life.
To God be the glory!
