We, the leaders from JIL Ottawa arrived at 9A.M.
At the door we received warm welcome from the leaders there with our very own DIO Pastor Bong Gonzales as they sing. Then each of us got our name tag at the bulletin board. From this point I can feel the sense of belongingness, love, joy and relaxation without pressure and tension. Everyone was just excited to see leaders they already know and to meet new partners in serving the Lord.
There’s a celebration in the house I should say. There’s a lot of booth made by different JIL local churches and each were well decorated.
Then they gave each one of us the “Your Pathway To Success” map. We have to complete it by visiting all booths and play the game in each booth and have it signed by the assigned booth coordinator. It’s so interesting and fun to see the leaders playing. Even if some didn’t know the game, they tried and had the joy and willingness to participate. Even if the line up for some booths is too long everyone remained patient, just stood on the line and wait for their turn. Well points and prizes await those who will successfully complete the set challenges.
If there’s one booth everyone loved going to it’s the buffet and drink booth. You’ll get points without even playing – just eat and drink.
As each participant compare their maps with points and their prizes, it’s easy to tell everyone’s having fun. Some even laughs while rushing to the nearest faucet to wash their melted chocolate – covered hands (one of the prizes).
Upon completion of all tests maps were submitted for validation. Those who got the highest points were given a special prize.
After the tiring but fun activities, sumptuous lunch was served. Thanks to the kitchen staff who prepared the food. God bless you all.
After Lunch we have the Praise and Worship led by the CYN Cornerstone Music Team and dancers. And wow! Our youth ministry did a good job for the Lord. The anointing is just overflowing.
The host, Pastor Allan Pua led yet another set of teambuilding activities. We had to collect letters hidden under our chairs and make a sound of a song according to the letter we got. The sounds made created a more fun atmosphere.
Then each table has to make their own version of “It’s more fun in JIL”. In a very short time allotted, we were all able to compose our own. Everyone just kept laughing each time a group presents theirs.
Male and female pastor played separately a game wherein they had to empty a box of facial tissue filled with 12 balls tied behind a participant. This was the hardest activity that day but just the same, it contributed to the fun JIL LGL’s had.
Then Pastor Bong Gonzales shared the Word of God entitled, “Rekindling The Flames Of Your Calling” with the key verses 2 Timothy1:6-7. Lights were turned off at the hall and lit the candles in every table symbolizing us to be the light of this dark world.
We should always be on fire in serving the Lord. It’s very important to rekindle the flames of our calling because of who we are – God’s servants; followers of Christ; leaders; JIL – this is our church.
It was a very inspiring message for us as servants of the Lord. Then we had the anointing of oil, the anointing of righteousness. Through this, I’m sure as we return to our designated areas, we are on fire in serving the Lord by serving people specially the flocks that God entrusted upon us as leaders.
Serving the Lord is not boring because we are serving the King Of Kings and the Lord Of Lords. There’s so much fun in serving Him. I encourage those leaders who were not able to attend this summit to join next time.
I thank the Lord for the life of our DIO Pastor Bong Gonzales, his wife Pastor Rose Gonzales and all the committees who organized this summit – it’s more fun and successful indeed.
God bless you all! Your work for the Lord will not be in vain for He is the great rewarder.
This Life Group Leaders’ Summit is totally different than our previous ones. There’s so much fun this time because It’s More Fun In JIL.
God bless us all!
