JIL Church Scarborough
has just conducted their 3rd Anniversary celebration on June 29, 2008, with its theme “Your Kingdom Come” taken
from Matthew 6:9-10. The program started with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and followed by the singing of
the Canadian National Anthem.
And came the dynamic entrance of the pageantry spearheaded by the VIA, JAM, Sayaw-Likha, Tambourine
Dancers and Tri-Movers leading the people to pour their hearts out in dancing and singing the praises and worship that gave
the highest honour to the Almighty God, declaring that “The Kingdom of God is Here” and “He is Exalted”.
To prepare the hearts of the people prior
to the delivery of God’s Word, two special numbers were performed. First, the CYN composing of seven participants, representing
the six days of creation that culminated in showing the ultimate purpose of God, the revelation of the Saviour, Jesus Christ
to the world.
The participants presented
a portrait of the Lord Jesus drawn in six separate sections of 2’ x 3’ white canvas using water based acrylic
paint and bare hands as brushes. The audience has no idea what the CYN were painting but when the six cardboards were
joined together and arranged in their proper places, all were amazed seeing the beautiful face of Jesus Christ neatly drawn.
It was an exciting presentation.
The second number was a worship prayer, led by the VIA and JAM as all sang in unison calling
upon the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord to let the weight of His glory covers the place and the truth of His kingdom reigns.
“Spirit of the
Sovereign Lord, Come and make Your presence known, Reveal the glory of the Living God, Let the weight of Your glory cover
us, Let the life of Your river flow, Let the truth of Your kingdom reign in us, Let the weight of Your glory fall, We
do not seek Your Hand, We only seek Your Face, We want to know You, We want to see You reveal Your glory in this place.”
This is the prayer of JIL
Scarborough as they celebrated and thanked the Lord for His enduring goodness, faithfulness and loving kindness. Truly He
inhabits the praises of His people and allowed them to experience His holy visitation and habitation. The weight of His glory
manifested, the life of His river flowed and the truth of His kingdom revealed through the powerful message delivered by our
Regional Supervising Pastor of JIL Canada, Rev. Aldrin C. Navo, together with his wife, Ptr. Monette, who also gave an inspirational
anniversary greetings.
The Kiddos band also performed two numbers
during the worship giving time special presentation and the last special presentation was performed by the 51 strong Choir
group performing a 4-voice blending of “God and God Alone.”
It was a celebration that only God deserves all the glory, honour
and praise. There was a good turn out of attendance counting a total number of 340 with 51 first timers, that some of His
servants didn’t mind standing all throughout the service.
Praise the Lord!
