Pastor Bong Gonzales “Love asks me no questions, And gives me endless support.” Many of us are not as happy as others’ home. This is not because of lack of material things, but most likely because love is less if not absent in a home. For LOVE makes a home! We all know that this life is much better if love is properly expressed and given. This is applicable in all kinds of relationship and people from all walks of life. Here are some thoughts and understanding that we need to discover.
The English word, “love” has four Greek translations. First is “Agape” or Agapeo which refers to a selfless love. It is a God kind of love but this is needed in building a happy and peaceful home. If only all members of the family will exercise this all others will follow. For this love does not think of the response of the recipient, it all depends on the giver. Second is “Peleo”, a friendly love. This is the kind that is willing to forgive and listen, a love that forgives and does not abandon. This is a need for everyone to build a home, from Dad and Mom with their child or children. Third is the “Storge”, a love that cares, one that shows affection, a fatherly and motherly love. This kind of love does things that are for the good of the object of love. It is mostly expressed by our parents especially during the times of our dependence on them. Lastly, “Eros” – the romantic love or sexual love. This is a private kind of love – supposed to be only between a Married couple because this is the most intimate expression and the union of two souls that become one. That’s why no one should practice this unless they are married – in a covenant to love each other until the end. This implies faithfulness and fidelity. There could be more additional learnings, translations and Greek words we could find but if only every person will apply the kind of love needed then we can really have a place to call home. There could be many things that build a house. We could buy lots of new electronic gadgets or loan most expensive furniture but the one most needed is something we could not buy, neither do we need to look for. It’s all in our heart and just need to be brought out, especially to those who walk and live with us. Give it to your family, your friends and the community. Then let’s see what a home we have. We could have not much of material things, but when there is love there will be a place we can call home where we’ll love to live. Let’s build a home by living in love properly applied. Therefore, no matter what it takes give all you have to love, It will make you Jam In Life and make it good! * * * * * * * Follow Pastor Bong Gonzales: Twitter: @nicanorgonzales Facebook: facebook.com/bong.m.gonzales
