Abby Belandres The Christian Youth for the Nations North America had its annual Youth Summit with almost 600 young people, and for the first time with delegates coming from all over Canada and USA. The event took place at the Americana Waterpark Resort Hotel in Niagara Falls, Ontario from August 9-12. With special speakers coming from all over the globe, the CYN’s had the privilege of hearing the gospel from individuals travelling from both west and east coast of Canada, in addition to the Philippines. Stamped with Approval from Jesus The theme verse for this year’s summit was found in 2 Timothy 2:15, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth,” (emphasis added) thus understanding that we as young people are more than just accepted in today’s society. Moreover, our international director for the CYN-KKB, Pastor Jovi Villanueva-Binalla spoke for our first session: Receiving God’s Certificate of Approval. The words that Jesus spoke through her reminded us young people that God is after quality in which we are available and willing to love and obey Him. These traits allow us to handle the scripture in its truth therefore embodying what 2 Timothy 2:15 says. As per Pastor Jovi, “It’s not about being approved by other men, not about being praised or about things we can get out of serving. Our very goal is to seek God’s approval in our lives.” The delegates had the pleasure of hearing from our international director and founder of the Jesus Is Lord Church, Bishop Brother Eddie C. Villanueva along with our international pastors and young leaders. The topics are the following: Day 1: Receiving God’s Certificate of Approval Approved (An Overview) by Ptr. Jovi Villanueva-Binalla Approved by God by Bro. Eddie Villanueva Day 2: Manifesting God’s Approval to Others Approved Character by Ptr. Jade Gascon Breakout Session 1: Approved Lifestyle
Approved Home by Ptr. Amor Adela Day 3: Serving with God’s Approval Approved Servant by Ptr. Bong Gonzalez Breakout Session 2: Approved Service
Breakout Session 3: Approved Church
Day 4: Approved! Commissioning by Bro. Eddie Villanueva The Preparation The preparation for this Summit started early in the year with different committees located all over the nation. Each respective team had members scattered throughout the country working coherently though separated by distance with a heart of expectation of how God was going to move within those four days and onwards. The committees created were based off of ministries such as: Creative Arts Net (CAN), Jesus Army of Musicians (JAM), Security of the Saints (SOS), Voices in Adoration (VIA), and Warriors Intercessory Network (WIN), as well as the program coordinating team, registration committee, food committee, transportation committee, fun & games committee, room leaders and the emcees. Approved! As the summit came to an end, the memories captured through photographs and the testimonies we take along with us will forever remind us of the mission to move for His cause, which comes through the approval by no other name than the name of Jesus Christ. As per Councilor Cha Hernandez from her session Approved Citizen, “We work from God’s approval, not for God’s approval.” Touring Toronto, Niagara Falls, and JIL Praise Valley After the summit, the delegates had the chance to experience the relaxing atmosphere of the Jesus is Lord Praise Valley campsite located in Oak Lake; with activities such as swimming, canoeing, paddle boating, playing volleyball and enjoying nature’s view, the CYN’s gladly enjoyed each other’s company. Besides this, a couple of CYN’s attended a water baptism rendering their life to Jesus in which other CYN’s supported and celebrated with them their new life in Jesus Christ. In addition, the delegates had the opportunity to tour around the city of Toronto exploring its diverse culture evident in its streets, shops, and food. The famous attractions (or most flattering Instagram spots) favoured by the CYN’s were:

As this is not a good bye, but a see you later, let us carry out what we’ve learned through this summit to express our #postsummitexcitement. See you all soon for next year’s summit!
