Are you afraid of the dark? Most kids are. They fear more than ever when lightning strikes in a stormy night. Yet soon they become unafraid of the dark. As they grow old, they get used to it. But ironic as it is, some people have become fearful not of darkness but of the light.

People have a way of hiding the truth about who they are. They do this because they are afraid they might be judged or exposed. Or they might be reproved or hurt.

When Jesus was on earth, He dared the self-righteous Pharisees and scribes to bring to light the motives behind what they do. He reproved them and made clear to them what it means to be righteous. (Matthew 23)

No one can hide from God what his true color is. He knows if a person plays hypocrite. We cannot trick Him. (more)

THE BLESSING OF TOMORROW
(by: Rev. Aldrin Navo)

While many are afraid of what will transpire tomorrow, the reason is mere fear of the unknown. Being afraid is the only motivation why many resort to seeking psychics, horoscopes, and other related mediums to know what will occur. Though there may be legitimate people that have the gift of seeing the future yet they still do not see a complete image of tomorrow. Just accept the fact that only God has the knowledge to provide exactly what we need as declared in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." John 15:16 says, "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit - fruit that will last." This passage states what Jesus is expecting from His genuine disciples - to become fruitful!

But you may probably be asking, "What kind of fruit is Jesus talking about?" Galatians 5:22 says, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." (more)

CHRIST BRIDGED THE GAP BETWEEN BELIEF AND REALITY
(by: Sis. Dory Villanueva)

Is it not disturbing when what you believe in does not match the way you live? But it is not disturbing at all if you are not even aware of it. Like when you say you believe in God and yet it is as clear as the sunshine that you are living in the dark. Like also when you say life is beautiful and yet misfortunes keep pouring on your lap. Indeed, there is a wide gap between belief and reality.

But that is not something new. People regardless of color, race, nationality, religious beliefs, social standing, and economic status suffer the same fate. Everyone has his own share of confusion and hardship in this perplexing world. Many, if not all, try to change the way they live, for the better. (more)
