– 2 Timothy 1:6 (NIV)
Life Group is an essential part of the church community. It is where JIL people grow more in their spirituality with the help of their life group leaders. It is also where new Christians are born and that is very important to JIL for it is their mission to accomplish with the time they have here on earth. That is why this LGL Summit has taken place – to empower the leaders of the church in order to be ready for harvest time.
The first session was held at JIL Vancouver Church with Ptr. Amor Adela, as our first speaker. The structure of a Life Group has been discussed during this time. Through this session LGL’s were able to acquire knowledge on conducting a proper and effective life group meeting. At the end of the session, the floor was open to ask the JIL BC Pastors by the LGL’s about the topic. Concerns and questions were answered incredibly with such anointed and wisdom-filled pastors of JIL BC.
The next day, LGL’s once again gathered in a banquet hall of Hilton Hotel Burnaby, near Metrotown. Sessions were resumed conducted by some of JIL pastors including Pastor Myra Paguntalan (Personal Life Of A Life Group Leader and Shepherding), Pastor Amor Adela (Methods Of Evangelism) and Pastor Bong Gonzales(Principles In Serving God and Fan Into Flame).
LGL’s were empowered to lead the people to Christ and were able to obtain knowledge and wisdom by knowing the Principles in Serving God presented by Pastor Bong. Ways of evangelism were also acquired during this summit as training for the upcoming harvest time. The Lord once again showed his goodness and grace to the willing leaders of JIL.
At the end of the day, these one hundred sixty life group leaders were fanned into flame just like what their theme verse said. Each and every one of them was anointed to lead people to Christ by His grace and mercy.
“I have learned so many things since day one of the summit.” Kimberly, LGL of the upcoming second Life Group of Christian Youth for the Nation North Vancouver, said.
People in JIL do not believe in coincidence or accidents. Rather, they believe in God’s purpose. The LGL’s and potential LGL’s were brought into the summit for a purpose. There were not only there to gather knowledge and to be empowered but also to witness God’s goodness, mercy and grace.
To all LGL’s, future LGL’s and to those who are being called in the ministry of loving – It is worth it! Therefore, fan the flame of the gift of God that is in You.
To God be All the Glory!
